Hello Abdullah,
thank you, but in first case, I get only the header bars again:
If I use se80 and I start CUSTOMIZE_COMPONENT providing the name of the component cutomization:
I am directed to the configuration activities, and it doesn't seems to be the place where the read-only has been set:
In case of the screen1 the customizing works fine. Below is the editing option that I have reached through right click -->settings for current configuration. I am looking for the very same thing in case of screen2, but I am always navigated to the first screen of this reply.
I couldn't really find examples for my problem in SAP help, except for this page :https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw74/helpdata/en/0e/50e04e184a479daa7951bb5e3f03b1/content.htm , where I have found the following:
"Constraints
It sounds very similar to my problem, isn't it? (In my case users can get to screen2 through navigation from screen1 - by pressing the "continue" button.)
By the way, is that normal that I am not allowed to start/test component configurations from se80, only application configurations? (In my case it seems to me that the application config is displayed, but the component config not. I am trying to start only the component config itself, but the test option in se80 is not available in that case).
Many thanks,
Tamas
Hi Expert,
We have a requirement that the standard SAP_MDGS_MENU_03 which contains satndard menu items in NWBC, does not require for all the steps in workflow. So we created 3 Y roles copying the SAP_MDGS_MENU_03 as we need different menu at different steps of approver. Also we have a requirement that the few requester can be an approver as well. In that case, we usually add 2 corresponding custom menu role for the particular user. This is working fine in MDG 6.1 but in MDG 7.0, the duplicate menu items are showing in the NWBC left menu.
Can you please suggest how to resolve the above issue in MDG 7.
Regrards,
Anupam
Hi Abdullah
Do you mean to create new entity with these attributes and new enhacement for genIL also?
Can we add custom fields for these fields in KNA1 and enhace data model by doing SDMT for this?
anupam,
there might be the roles assinged muntiple time to the user ID ,please check the roles and remove the duplicated menus from the roles.
Hi Shankar,
No Duplicate roles are assigned.Every roles are copied from standard role and customize as per business requirement for each step.
We need the roles assigned to multiple times as requester has some specific menu where as approver has some other menu items required. For example, requester has a MDG menu Role which contains Search Supplier, Display Change Request. The approver has a MDG menu role which contains Search Supplier, Display Change Request, Display Change Documents. Now if we assign an user with single menu role for there respective Role, it is working fine. But few users need the role menu for both requester as well as approver, then we need to assign both the menu roles for that user. And it causes the duplicate Search Supplier, Display Change Request.in SAP MDG 6.1, it was working fine as only one item is showing in NWBC menu. But the problem arises in SAP MDG 7.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue in MDG 7.
Regrads,
Anupam
Dear Anu,
As mention above the requester and Approver roles consist of the Menu reptedly.
what you can do is the Create the role with common Menus so that it covers both the role of Requester and Approver instead two roles with repeated menus.
The screen you have with the yellow ribbon is the "customizing" window for sure. However, you comment about wanting the "read-only" field is a little concerning. That pop-up you show is for configuring native web dynpro applications and NOT for FPM. My recommendation is to invest some time learning the basic FPM concepts and it should help you big time especially if you are going to work with MDG a lot.
No, you just need to enhance the genil model in that transaction genil_model_browser. In there, you can define a new handler class (should be a child of the original class). In this new custom handler class, you can programmatically "un"-hide an attribute that was hidden in the genil model.
Hi,
As I mentioned above that changing the database buffer and restarting of the MDG instance helped to solve the issue. Both were done by SAP BASIS support team
Thanks,

Hi friends,
I wanted to start this topic as a debate/analysis perse,
we want to analyse,
what is the best Integration Approach for MDG HUB in SAP landscape?
Option1: Integrating MDG HUB directly with other systems[ECC, CRM, SRM, SCM, etc].
Option2: MDG HUB feeding all master data to ECC & ECC distributing directly to other systems[ECC, CRM, SRM, SCM, etc]
please share your experiences/understandings with reasonings. Thx.
One thing for sure; there is no best option. Everybody has their own constraint and factors that derive this decision. There are a few things to consider here:
Based on those answers (and the many others that I didn't ask), each implementation can decide what is the best approach. Again, the list above is just a sample of what should be asked to reach a decision.
Hello!!
I'm working with MDG-S for supplier creation, i'm using the relationships in order to create the contact person of vendor.
The contact Person is sucessfully asigned to the Supplier in MDG, but when i replicate the vendor (Using ADDRMAS & CREMAS) the contact person is not replicated.
Is there any adicional configuration in the distribution model to replicate this information?
Best Regards!
Fernando!
Is there a reason why you didn't use the web service to replicate the BP/Supplier record?
Any way, in order to get contacts using ALE, you need to configure BUPA_INBOUND_MAIN_SAVE_M and BUPA_INBOUND_REL_SAVE_M. See this document for details on MDG-S replication: https://help.sap.com/erp_mdg_addon61/helpdata/en/c6/472d8078e440c28ebc65e71ed5c620/content.htm?frameset=/en/1f/ea4022958
Thak you Abdullah, as part of the landscape i have to use ALE.
Best Regards!
BUPA is for the business partner including the relationships which will bring the supplier contacts.

Hello San
The best approach would be MDG implemented as HUB. Govern master data in MDG and later on transfer to any system from MDG.
